I was wondering through the SXSW artist list and I came across a band that made me think, "That's the best band name I've ever heard." That band is Care Bears on Fire. What I didn't realize is that they are pre-teens. Their song "Everybody Else" is pretty basic (granted they're in 7th grade, so don't expect anything complex) but it's better than your average Miley Cyrus or Kidz Bop tune. So download the song and crank it up for your little cousin or any little person you personally know. All hail kidcore!

Caspian, Hooray For Earth, Age Rings and Zambri – Middle East Downstaris – 29 FEB 2008
I was lucky enough to catch the mighty Caspian live at the Middle East Club this past Friday. While I have seen several instrumental bands live, nothing could have prepared me for the moving crescendos and bludgeoning force that is Caspian. Well, except if I saw them live before hand. Anyway, they are not to be missed.
